China’s NEV subsidies occurred in 2018 to total RMB13.778 billion

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said on December 10 the government subsidies for new energy vehicle (NEV) promotion and application that occurred in 2018 were forecasted to reach RMB13.778 billion.  In terms of the amount of the subsidy received, the top three automakers are BYD (RMB3.632 billion), Chery Automobile (RMB1.342 billion) and SAIC Motor (RMB1.138 billion). BYD said its oil-fueled vehicle sales in November reached 30,075 units, surging 43.86% compared with a year ago and climbing 5.29% from a month earlier.
