Just several days after FAW-VW’s introduction of the SUV T-ROC, SAIC-VW, the other joint venture of the German automaker in China, launched a new compact SUV model ,the Tharu, with a price between RMB 169,800 and RMB 229,800.
The grille looks very fashionable with chrome decorations. The model adopts rectangular headlights with LED daytime running lights below them. The Tharu measures 4,453 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width and 1,632 mm in height while its wheelbase stands at 2,688 mm.
The new model is powered by either an EA888 2.0L turbocharged engine paired with DQ381 wet seven-speed DCT or an EA211 1.4L turbocharged engine paired with DQ200 seven-speed wet DCT.
The Tharu features intelligent tire pressure monitoring system, electrical park brake, auto hold and electronic stability program. In terms of driving assistance, the model is equipped with adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, front assist and even fatigue monitoring system.
