Tesla said in a statement Thursday that the Model 2 and Model X cars installed between February 20 and October 2010 installed electric parking brakes "may contain a third party supplier is not properly produced by the pinion "

Tesla estimates that only 5% of the vehicles that will be recalled by the company will be affected by the problem and that it would take about 45 minutes to replace the problem parts.
