Ford's Turkish plant cancels shift

Ford Otosan, Ford's Turkish arm, eliminating extra work shifts on Tuesday, citing growing problems of supply chain during labor disputes in the automotive industry in Turkey.

In the production of the two automakers, Renault and Fiat OYAK joint venture Tofas which accounted for over 40 percent of the annual production of automobiles in Turkey, arrest earlier this week, due to the demand for better conditions labor.

The protests began on Thursday in Oyak Renault. The plant is a joint venture with the Turkish Armed Forces Pension Fund between Renault. On Friday, the conflict spread to Tofas factory.

Tofas controlled by Fiat and local Koc group said it had to stop production until the industrial action is resolved, adding that he did not think that affects property sales.
