Improvement in products and development in dealers have make Geely, one of leading automakers in China, increase target sales 660,000 units from 600,000 units this year.

90% of dealers have suffered great loss in China in the first half 2016, according to China’s government. However, almost all of dealers of Geely have made profits, according to the company.

Due to high inventory and price war, dealers have failed to make profit by selling vehicles. After-sale service, alternatively, has served to help dealers make profits. Marketing strategies of Geely may need to be improved in the future according to insiders.

Quality of products turns out to be the key factor to success in sales. Launch of a great number of new products has led to considerable increase in sales of Geely since 2015. In the first seven months in 2016, the sales of new modes of Geely were 328,900 units, increasing by 16.7% year on year.

Moreover, Geely has begun to invest more on development of dealers in the first-tier cities in China.

Development of products, users and segments turn out to be key factors deciding success of domestic automotive brands in China. Three brands of Geely belong to three different segments, avoiding the rule that multiple brands under one segment may fail to increase overall sales of the company.

Development of products, production capacity and channels may serve to meet the target in 2020.
