Honda Motor Co. expects a facelift will give an increase in sales to one of its weakest entries: the sporty CR-Z hybrid.
An updated version will be released in Japan in October and is expected to hit US showrooms sometime next month.
The update puts a more sculpted front fascia with a lip-shaped wing cups enlarged grille and fog lights flares around.
Same dynamic mode frills adorn plungers the rear, while the rear wheels are pushed out to give a more solid stance planted touch.
Inside, designers changed the style handbrake lever between the front seats for an electric. That allowed them to add an armrest diver. Engineers also clashed size disc brakes 15 inch, 14 inch, and rolled out new designs more open to better show the new hardware tires.
Torikai Terukazu chief engineer said the upgrade reflects the commitment of the Honda CR-Z low volume, which is the slowest seller of Honda after the hybrid Insight and Ridgeline pickup, which was suspended for the 2015 model year.
