Geely Auto is planning a car-building program with the model code-named NL-3, local media citing the information from Shaanxi provincial government. The new model is expected to be the coupe version of the Geely Boyue.
According to relevant details exposed, the program will be carries out in Shaanxi province, focusing on manufacturing the model code-named NL-3. With a planned annual capacity of 100,000 vehicles, the car plant will have the stamping workshop, the painting workshop, the assembly workshop as well as the engine workshop. The stamping workshop will be able to output 100,000 sets of body stamping parts. Besides, the engine workshop is designed to produce 200,000 sets of the JL18TGDI four-cylinder gasoline engine per year.
The NL-3 model measures 4,480mm in length, 1,820mm in width and 1,860mm in height, quite close to that of the Geely Boyue (4,519mm*1,831mm*1,694mm). The wheelbase of the new model is 2,660mm, only 10mm shorter than the Geely Boyue.
The spy shots of the “suspected” Geely Boyue coupe version have been exposed before. The car features a salient fastback design despite the heavy camouflage, resembling the BMW X6. Inside, the model carries a futuristic electronic gear lever and a piano lacquer-covered panel in front of the passenger seat.
